On the women&#8217;s side, <strong>Anna Hofer<\/strong> (\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 SCARPA) won in <strong>1:51:55<\/strong> (10th overall), ahead of Slovenia&#8217;s Klara Velepec and Britain&#8217;s veteran Sonia Samuels (\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 45-49W, 3rd \u2014 of Sale Harriers Manchester!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"story\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The story \u2014 A night in the Dolomites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 120K sets off at 11pm from Corso Italia in Cortina d&#8217;Ampezzo, under the stars and to the strains of the legendary &#8220;The Ecstasy of Gold&#8221; by Ennio Morricone. Namberger took the lead early and never relinquished it. His attack at Col Gallina (km 97.5) \u2014 the most committing point on the course \u2014 sealed the race for good. Reiterer and Geiser, who had run together in the German&#8217;s wake, couldn&#8217;t close the gap. Their simultaneous finish \u2014 a single shared second on the official clock \u2014 stands as one of the defining moments of the edition.
