The Grand Trail des Templiers, the festival’s flagship event, was created in 1995 by Gilles Bertrand and his team.
Over the years, the event has developed into a genuine trail running festival, attracting thousands of runners from all over the world.
The event takes place over a week and features several races:
The Grand Trail des Templiers is the festival’s flagship event, offering a demanding 80.6 km course with 3530 m of ascent.
For the most seasoned ultra-trailers, theEndurance Trail offers an even greater challenge with its 104 km and 4,550 m of ascent.
The Intégrale des Causses is a 66.3 km intermediate race, while the Boffi Fifty offers a 48.5 km alternative.
Runners looking for a more classic distance can opt for the Marathon du Larzac or the Marathon des Causses, both around 35 km but with different gradient profiles.
The Mona Lisa and Dourbie Formi are shorter trails, 28.7 km and 24.6 km respectively, ideal for those who want to enjoy the festival atmosphere without committing to a very long distance.
The 17.2 km VO2 Trail is an excellent option for intermediate runners.
The Troubadours offer an accessible 11.4 km race, ideal for beginners or those who prefer shorter distances.
The Templière is a 7.3 km race for women only, while the KD Trail, of the same distance, is open to all.
For younger guests, the Kinder Trail offers 1.5 and 3 km routes, allowing children to join in the fun.
Finally, La Belle de Millau is not a race per se, but a walking event organized in aid of the Ligue contre le cancer, enabling everyone to contribute to a good cause while enjoying the festival atmosphere.
Each of these events allows participants to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Grands Causses.
Men’s Grand Trail des Templiers 2023 rankings
The Grand Trail des Templiers took place on October 23, 2023 in Millau, Aveyron.
This iconic 80.6 km race with 3,530 m of ascent attracted runners from all over the world.
In the men’s race, Jonathan Albon won with a time of 6h42’17”ahead of Italian Francesco Puppi and American Ben Dhiman.

Women’s Grand Trail des Templiers rankings
The women’s race at the Grand Trail des Templiers 2023 was marked by the victory of Julie ROUX, from the Salomon France team, who won the event with an impressive time of 7:58:30, just a few months after the birth of her child.
The race attracted talent from all over the world, with a strong international presence in the top 10.
