Results and rankings La Diagonale des Fous 2023
The Diagonale des Fous is an iconic ultra-trail that takes place every year on the island of La Réunion.
It covers a distance of 165 km, with an impressive 10,000-meter vertical drop.
The course crosses the island from south to north, offering runners a breathtaking variety of landscapes, from arid zones to tropical forests and volcanic terrain.
The Diagonale des fous, the Grand Raid’s flagship race, starts at Ravine Blanche in Saint-Pierre and finishes in Saint-Denis.
The Grand Raid association also organizes other races alongside the Diagonale des Fous:
The Bourbon Trail 110 km with 6,260 m of ascent
La Mascareignes 71 km with 4,010 m ascent
The Zembrocal Trail: 147 km with 7,910 m ascent, run as a relay in teams of 4.

The Diagonale des fous took place on October 19, 2023 in Saint Pierre, on Reunion Island.
In the men’s race, Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz won with a time of 23h21’23”, ahead of another Frenchman, Germain Grangier.
