Hardrock 100 2026 Results: Pommeret RECORD 21h11 (Hat-trick at 51!), Dauwalter 4th title, Evans DNF at mile 11.5
Silverton, Colorado, July 10-11, 2026. The Hardrock 100 Endurance Run — 101.8 miles (164km), 33,000 feet of elevation gain, average altitude 11,000 feet in the San Juan Mountains — has just written one of its greatest chapters. At 51 years old, Frenchman Ludovic Pommeret (🇫🇷) claims a third consecutive victory (2024-2025-2026) in 21h11’36” — a new clockwise course record, beating his own mark of 21h33’06” set in 2024 by 21 minutes and 30 seconds. He finishes more than 2h30 ahead of 2nd place, American Jimmy Elam (23h48’56”). On the women’s side, Courtney Dauwalter (🇺🇸) claims her 4th Hardrock title (2022, 2023, 2024, 2026), returning after missing the 2025 edition. The great disappointment: Tom Evans (🇬🇧, UTMB 2025 champion) drops at mile 11.5 on his first Hardrock attempt. Official results at hardrock100.com.
Men’s Results — Pommeret dominates, new course record
The long-awaited showdown — Pommeret vs Evans — collapses within the first few hours. Tom Evans (🇬🇧), touted as the only man capable of challenging the Frenchman, drops at mile 11.5 (Kamm Traverse), before even reaching Chapman (mi 18.1). Not his day. Pommeret runs his usual race: patient, calculated, relentless. Faithful to his style, he lets the early miles play out, gradually takes control and accelerates in the second half when rivals crack under the altitude (the clockwise course peaks at 14,048 feet on Handies Peak). In 21h11’36”, he not only claims his 3rd consecutive title but shatters his own clockwise record by 21 minutes and 30 seconds. At 51. Jimmy Elam (🇺🇸, 39, Midway UT) delivers a solid 2nd place in 23h48’56”, David Ayala (🇺🇸, 44, Bozeman MT) completes the podium in 24h28’17”.

Race Story — Domination, Evans falls, Dauwalter reigns
The 2026 Hardrock 100 was billed as the race of the century: Ludovic Pommeret vs Tom Evans. The double defending champion against the UTMB 2025 winner, in his first run through the San Juan Mountains. Evans chose an aggressive early pace, trying to set the tempo from the first climbs. At Kamm Traverse (mi 11.5), he appeared still in contention with a few minutes back on Pommeret. But somewhere between mile 11.5 and Chapman (mi 18.1), Tom Evans stops. The mountain said no.
Pommeret no longer needs to justify himself. Patient, controlled, faultless: as in his two previous wins, he lets the early miles unfold, gradually takes the lead, and accelerates in the second half when rivals crack under the altitude (the clockwise course peaks at 14,048 feet, 4,281m, on Handies Peak). At Cunningham (mi 92.5), his lead over Elam is already over 2h10. Pommeret flies into Silverton to cross the line in 21h11’36” — 21 minutes better than his own 2024 record. At 51. Three consecutive victories. A living legend.
