The Valence Marathon 2024 took place on Sunday December 1. The 44th edition attracted almost 29,000 runners from all over the world..
The course, renowned for its speed, began at Plaça de la Marató and ended on the spectacular blue carpet of the Cité des Arts et des Sciences.. Participants crossed the historic heart of Valencia, passing by the port, the universities and the Mestalla stadium..
Despite the recent floods in Spain, the event was marked by an outpouring of solidarity, with donations going to the affected areas.

Kenyan Sebastian Sawe created a sensation by winning the race in his first marathon. He set the world’s best performance of the year with a time of 2h02’05.Ethiopia’s Deresa Geleta Ulfata finished second in 2h02’38”, followed by Kenya’s Daniel Mateiko in 2h04’24”.
