Luxembourg Marathon 2025 route in gpx
Ah, the Luxembourg Marathon… It’s really something. The atmosphere is unique, especially as it’s run in the evening. The start time is around 7pm, which completely changes the feel of the race.
You start in the Kirchberg district, a modern, almost futuristic place. The tall towers all around give it a very urban feel at first. Then you quickly move on to quieter, residential areas, but the public is always there, warm and welcoming, even in the small streets.
The course is hilly, it has to be said. It’s not flat like Berlin or Rotterdam. There are a few nice climbs that break the pace a little, especially the one around the 30th kilometer. But frankly, the atmosphere helps to keep you going.
Towards the halfway point, you cross some older corners, with cobblestones in places. Many runners find this hard, but I find it adds character. And then, running under the lights of the city center, with the music, the crowds on the sidewalks… it’s magical.
You can also see the Grund, the picturesque district below, with its little bridges and the river. It’s a short but memorable trip.
The end is more rolling. You can feel that the organizers wanted to spare your legs for the last few kilometers. And then, what a finish! You finish almost in a nightclub, in the Coque, with lights, music and a crazy atmosphere. It’s like being at a concert. A truly unique experience. Nothing to do with “classic” marathons.
This marathon is more than a performance. It’s a party. If you’re looking for excitement, nightlife and thrills, go for it.
