The Copenhagen Marathon is a great adventure in the heart of the city. The course is flat and fast, ideal for a personal best. You start from Islands Brygge, right on the water’s edge. The atmosphere there is already magical and thrilling.
You soon pass through lively neighborhoods like Nørrebro and Østerbro. Spectators are everywhere, clapping their hands and shouting your name. Frankly, the energy carries you along.
You can also ride along more peaceful areas, such as around lakes or in Frederiksberg. There, you can take a breather and find your own rhythm. You’ll come across street musicians and DJs on every corner.
Towards the end, the course returns to the center. You know it’s coming, your legs are starting to pull, but the crowds are getting thicker. The cobblestones of downtown, the smell of the cafés, the old buildings… It’s magnificent.
The finish is back at Islands Brygge. You’ve got a view of the canal, flags in the wind, people cheering you on all the way. You cross the line, you raise your arms… It’s intense, it’s unique. Copenhagen is a marathon you never forget.
