Results and rankings Rotterdam Marathon 2024

The Rotterdam Marathon, one of the world’s largest marathons, took place on April 14, 2024. This annual event attracts thousands of runners from all over the world who converge on the Dutch port city to take on the 42.195 km challenge. The course, known for being fast and flat, winds its way through the lively streets of Rotterdam, offering participants a unique experience combining sport and culture.

Nageeye takes the Rotterdam marathon home with her!

Dutchman Abdi Nageeye claimed a surprise victory at the Rotterdam 2024 Marathon in 2h04’45”. The 34-year-old athlete, silver medallist at the Tokyo Olympics, beat Ethiopia’s Amedework Walelegn (2h04’48”) and his compatriot Birhanu Legese (2h05’16”).Nageeye, who won in Rotterdam in 2022, confirms his current excellent form and his ability to shine in fast races. His time was another personal best.Behind the 100% Dutch-Ethiopian podium were Kenya’s Kenneth Kipkemoi (4th in 2h05’41”) and his compatriot Enock Onchari (5th in 2h06’07”). The top 10 was completed by Lameck Too (6th), Godadaw Belachew (7th), Ghirmay Ghebreslassie (8th), Nekagenet Crippa (9th) and Dutchman Stan Niesten (10th).A very high-level race that promises to be a great battle in the next big international marathons. Nageeye confirms that we can count on him.

Ethiopia’s Ashete Bekere won in 2h19’27” ahead of Kenya’s Viola Kibiwot (2h20’53”). Her compatriot Selly Chepyego Kaptich completed the podium in 2h22’43”.Then there are four Kenyans in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th place: Emily Chebet, Pascalia Jepkogei, Thalia Valdivia from Peru and Ethiopian Sisay Meseret Gola. The top 10 was completed by Israel’s Maor Tiyouri, Kazakhstan’s Zhanna Mamazhanova and Japan’s Sakiho Tsutsui.A very fast, high-level women’s race, just like the men’s performances. Year after year, the Rotterdam Marathon confirms its status as a fast-paced classic.
